Damiano K. Phiri
Managing Director
Damiano Phiri is a Chartered Insurer, Chartered Insurance Institute of London (ACII UK) and has attended advanced insurance training courses. Damiano has over 30 years experience in an insurance industry in Malawi where he rose to the position of General Manager for REAL Insurance Company now Britam Insurance Company. He was seconded to Mozambique where he served as the CEO for REAL Insurance (Mozambique). Damiano has played key roles in the insurance industry in Malawi having served as the President of the Insurance Institute of Lilongwe and a tutor at Malawi Collage of Accountancy amongst other roles. He has also served as a Board Member of various Companies.

Farai Mpando
Chief Operating Officer
Farai holds a Bachelors of Arts (Humanities) Degree from Chancellor College – Zomba, University of Malawi (2002). He has also made significant progress towards obtaining a Diploma in Insurance from Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) of United Kingdom and will shortly be pursuing a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. Farai Mpando has over 17 years’ combined experience in the insurance and financial services industry having started his career at Marsh Malawi Limited insurance brokers (formerly Alexander Forbes) in 2003 where he rose to the position of Senior Account Executive.
Stenner Katunga
Chief Finance Officer
Stenner Katunga is a member of Association of Chartered and Certified Accountants (ACCA), Institute of Chartered Accountants in Malawi (ICAM). He also holds a Masters of Business Administration from the Malawi Institute of Management (MIM). He has over 13 years of experience in the Insurance industry having worked for BRITAM Insurance Ltd as an Accountant and Marsh Malawi Limited as Head of Finance and Administration/Company Secretary.
Tuntufye Nellie Laita
Business Relationship Manager (Centre & North)
Tuntufye Nellie Laita with over 35 years of experience in the insurance industry, Ms Laita has acquired all the necessary skills to run an Underwriting Department as an Underwriting Manager. She holds a Certificate of Proficiency from Chartered Insurance Institute of UK amongst other qualifications. She enjoys applying her vast experience in anlysing risks for the best possible covers and terms.
John Mwanamanga
Business Relationship Manager (South)
John has over 25 years insurance industry experience at both insurance company and intermediary levels behind him coupled with a Certificate of Proficiency from Chartered Insurance Institute of UK. He has worked for REAL Insurance (Malawi) (Now Britam Insurance Company) and two other broking firms before joining GIB. John enjoys offering exceptional customer service to requests for insurance proposals from corporate clients and public institutions and has created an outstanding reputation as an insurance broker.
